Choosing an RTO consultant is one of the most important decisions a training provider makes. The right consultant protects your registration, funding and reputation. The wrong one can leave you with generic templates that fall over at audit.

3. Evidence-based reviews. Good consultants test what actually happens, not just what your policies say.
4. Tailored work, not templates. Off-the-shelf documents rarely match how your RTO operates — auditors notice.
5. Clear, fixed scopes. You should know exactly what will be reviewed, what you receive and when.
6. Plain-English reporting. Findings should come with a prioritised action plan your team can follow.
7. Honesty about outcomes. No consultant can guarantee an audit or funding result. Be wary of anyone who does.
